Say you will (never forget)

Goodbye to the love of my life

Like a piece of land I once owned

I can only stand still for so long

I only wish you the best

May your seed yield the sweetest of fruit

May your heart love with every single beat.

I used to curse my photographic memory

But if I close my eyes

I can still feel your mouth on mine

And I can keep that for me

On nights when nostalgia knocks on the

Back door

I don’t rush to that place

like I used to anymore

At every rustle,

every little tap

Instead I like to imagine you

Dancing in the kitchen

Laughing in the dark

Making love on the floor

And I smile knowing we had it all

We burned so hot we melted into one

Say you will keep October a time for us

Say you will never forget me

Say you will find me again.

Teeth in the ditch (sudden death)

You get mad that

you can’t turn water into wine

But baby I never ask for that

Water was what I wanted

all along

Too bad your demons won’t let you listen

And Your pity parties always win

I could hand you my bleeding heart

on a platter,

pour my soul out in a letter

Drain my blood to paint you a picture

And in return I’d only get crickets

My search history is microwaves…

That’s how real this was for me.

But while waiting to go to the dentist,

Like a baby left on the doorstep,

His ego bought a car.

And just like a pulmonary embolism

This thing we had dropped dead.

Respect has a rhythm and

Trust is a beat

And you need to use your mouth

For the CPR to treat

If you even allowed yourself to be taught…

Haven’t you learnt that you need

to leave a crack in the window?

You don’t know everything yet.
